Who's ready to play some pickleball? The new courts are now open and are located on the east side of Westboro/Canterbury Park off of S. Withers Road. The courts will be available on a first come first served basis from dawn to dusk.
Liberty Parks & Rec is partnering with Tom Schoeck with Justpaddles.com to bring instructional pickleball clinics to Liberty! Tom, along with local sponsored players, will teach the rules of the game, how to keep score, proper and legal serving techniques and basic strategy.
Once the project is complete, with the installation of lighting and a sidewalk, Liberty Parks & Rec will have a dedication ceremony followed by instructional clinics and future leagues.
Pickleball is available at the LCC on a reservation basis. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net and is for all ages and skill levels.
To reserve playing time, please call 816-439-4360 and staff will have the court set for you when you arrive. Paddles and pickleballs are available at the welcome desk.
