Disc Golf Courses
Bad Rock Creek Disc Golf Course (BRC)
BRC is an 18-hole course at Stocksdale Park in Liberty. Following the "Tee It Forward" philosophy, this course was designed for players of all skill levels - beginner, advanced and pro. Through the placement of alternate tee pads and additional baskets, BRC combines three courses - Liberty Gold, Red and Blue - into one 18-hole layout.
Bennett Park Disc Golf Course
This 9-hole course at Bennett Park was a collaborative effort between citizens and Liberty Parks & Rec to create a smaller course encouraging beginners to play disc golf. We received feedback from the community asking for more visibility (cleared vegetation and brush) throughout Bennett Park and more activities to utilize the space.

"Creek of the Bad Rock"
This course gets its name from the Lewis and Clark Expedition that traveled the area more than 200 years ago. Rush Creek flows along side the east side of Stocksdale Park and Walnut Woods Conservation Area before flowing south into the Missouri River. Clark's journal on June 24, 1804 noted "...a bad part of the river, on the S.S the rocks projected into the river some distance" just above its confluence with the creek. Lewis and Clark's comrade, Sergeant Charles Floyd, referred to the creek as a "Creek of the Bad Rock." Two months later, Floyd became the only member of the expedition to die along the route.
Mix of short/medium technical wooded holes, open holes throwing in/out of woods, good elevation, 5 holes with water in play, well mowed fairways with generous width but tall grass OB. Blue course plays from the long tees to the blue baskets and red course plays from short tees to blue baskets. 9 additional gold baskets mixed in for longer layout.

UPDATE - 1/19/2023
Liberty Parks & Rec crews have taken advantage of the warmer January days and finished installing the baskets for the new Bennett Park Disc Golf Course. The course is playable now and the concrete tee pads will be installed in the coming weeks as weather permits. The pads are temporarily identified with flags and paint, and the baskets are numbered.
We are excited to add this new amenity to our park system. This is a great course to complement the more challenging Bad Rock Creek Disc Golf Course at Stocksdale Park, which is one of the top rated courses in the KC metro area.
