[ARCHIVED] Keep Your Swim Skills Sharp

Keep your swim strokes in peak form during the off season with Swim Team Maintenance and Conditioning at the Liberty Community Center. This spring program is specifically tailored to prepare participants who have previous competitive swim experience for the upcoming summer season.

Working with Liberty Storm Swim Team Coach Laurel Shoger, swimmers will focus on strength training and distance building skills in a smaller, group environment. The group will follow daily workouts designed to increase cardiovascular output, stamina and streamlining.

“This program was created for those who have a strong understanding of the four competitive swim strokes and want to work on stamina and speed before the upcoming swim season,” said Charles Anderson, Aquatics Supervisor.

Shoger is a longtime participant in and current coach for the Liberty Storm Swim Team. As a coach, she has taught hundreds of swimmers in private lessons and groups, including stroke clinics and triathlon conditioning programs.

The recommended age range for Swim Team Maintenance participants is 11-18. All requests for participants 10 and under need to be pre-approved by the coach before registering.
