I live in a residential neighborhood. Can I have chickens in my backyard?

If you live in a single family residential neighborhood on a lot smaller than 30,000 square feet, you may keep up to 6 female chickens (hens).  Please fill out our Backyard Hen Permit application in its entirety and return it to the Planning and Development Department on the 3rd floor of City Hall at 101 E. Kansas or email it to planning@libertymo.gov.   The permit must be approved before you bring hens onto your property.
