Today we are headed to Powell Gardens to experience 915 acres of botanical bliss, stunning architecture, and gorgeous display gardens that change with the seasons. You will enjoy a guided tour on a trolley through the gardens upon arrival. For lunch we will have an All-American picnic at the garden and following lunch you will take a self-guided tour through the butterfly garden. On our way home, we will stop at Cockrell Mercantile. In the late 1800s and early 1900s the town of Cockrell was home to traders and frontiersmen. Before automobiles carried residents to the big city of KC, the people of Cockrell supported themselves off the land and with local trading at the General Store, which is the main building of Cockrell Mercantile. There are now a total of five stores in Cockrell Village full of high end cookware and home decor.
