[ARCHIVED] New Trash & Recycing bins have begun arriving

Cart delivery has begun and it is expected to be completed by February 26. If you don't receive your carts after February 26th, please contact the City at 439-4460.

The new carts are a result of a new contract with Allied Waste through which the City of Liberty and Allied Waste are improving trash and recycling services with a new semi-automated system. This is part of ongoing efforts to keep our community clean and to reduce what we send to the landfills.

The goal of this new system is to reduce the amount of waste taken to landfills by making it easier to recycle and to keep our community cleaner.

These enhancements to our trash and recycling service even come at a reduced rate for our customers.

In addition, recycling services are now available to Liberty businesses as part of this new contract. Businesses can contract directly with Allied Waste for this service.

And by recycling more, we not only help the environment, but we also help the City's bottom line. With the new contract, Allied Waste will rebate to the City 50 percent of the value of all recycling collected within the City, including all residential and commercial customers every quarter.

Current yard waste customers can also replace their current 65-gallon yard waste cart with a new 95-gallon cart. The yard waste program is now entirely subscription based. Stickers for yard waste will no longer be sold.
