Liberty Parks and Recreation is now taking registration for a day trip to Abilene, Kan., December 16.
The trip will include a guided tour of Abilene and a guided tour of Seelye Mansion. This 25-room mansion was built in 1905 and is full of historic treasures, including original Edison light bulbs and the original furniture. We will tour all the rooms including 11 bedrooms, a ballroom, a bowling alley and the kitchen area You will be amazed at all the treasures and history of the house. Our lunch will be at the Kirby House in downtown Abilene. To conclude our day, we will have a demonstration at the Russell Stover warehouse as well as time to shop.
Fee for residents is $60, or $55 for Liberty Community Center Members through the member rewards program. Price includes transportation, all tours, lunch and driver’s gratuity. Registration deadline is November 13 and is limited to the first 28 people. Bus departs from the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Rd.
