We are going to kick off the holiday season with a trip full of holiday activities, music, food, and entertainment. Our first stop will be at the K.C. String Violin Shop. This is a unique shop that makes and repairs violins, violas and basses by a team of European and American master craftsmen. We will see the process from a piece of wood to the final product. Next stop will be the all Electric House, decked out in 1950s Christmas flair. This house was built in the 1950s by KCPL to showcase the wave of the future. Our next stop will be Crown Center to see the Mayor's Christmas Tree and Hallmark decorations and to listen to school choirs sing songs of the season. Dinner will be at Ragland Road Irish Pub in the Power & Light District, built in Ireland and shipped to KC! After dinner we will sit back and enjoy Irish music and dancers. A drive through the Plaza to see the Christmas lights completes this wonderful tour. Registration is open to the first 40 reservations or until November 6. See the Fall 2009 Program brochure for details.
