The Federal Reserve building has a new home; during an average week, $66 million in unfit currency is shredded at the Fed, come and find out why and learn other interesting facts about the Fed. The Steamboat Arabia was a 171 foot long side-wheel steamer, until it hit a “snag” and sank to the bottom of the Missouri River. For more than 132 years, it was hidden from the world. This amazing museum holds a vast collection of all the artifacts that were recovered from the boat. Finally, the Liberty Memorial is the only World War I memorial in the country. In the memorial’s brand new museum, World War I history comes alive. The exhibits contain objects used during the war ranging from weaponry and uniforms as well as such documents as letters and postcards from the field.
The fee for residents is $50, or $45 for Liberty Community Center Members through the member rewards program. Price includes transportation, lunch, all tours and driver gratuity. Registration deadline is February 6. The bus will depart at 8:45 a.m. from the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Rd.
