[ARCHIVED] Trash and Recycling Collection Update - Feb. 19

Republic Services was only able to collect about half of Monday's trash and recycling routes before calling the trucks in due to weather. They did not run at all on Tuesday due to hydraulic issues on the trucks and out of concern for the safety of the crews. They spent the rest of the week playing catchup as the weather and road conditions improved, and will continue collection on Saturday, completing the Tuesday - Friday routes. Unfortunately, they will likely not be able to catch up on the rest of the Monday route as they had originally hoped to do. The remaining Monday trash and recycling will probably not be picked up until next Monday.

We know many of you may have more trash and recycling than normal, some due to missed collection last week. For recycling, if you are able, please make sure cans, plastics and cardboard are flattened to allow more to be placed in the carts. Republic Services prefers that customers fill the carts to overflowing (even if the lid must remain open) before leaving bags outside the carts. This will help expedite collection and help crews work through every route in a timely manner.
