Need a place to cool off? When temperatures reach above 90 degrees, the Liberty Community Center lobby is open during regular business hours as a Cooling Center to anyone, regardless of residency.
The Liberty Community Center is Open
Monday-Thursday: 5 a.m.-10 p.m.
Friday: 5 a.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
People using the cooling center are encouraged to bring their necessary personal items like medicines and ready-to-eat snacks. Cooling center visitors may purchase a day pass if they would like to use the Liberty Community Center's other facilities.
The Liberty Community Center is located at 1600 S. Withers Road.
With heat indices racing above 105 degrees this week, take some time to check on your neighbors, and make sure kids and pets playing outside have plenty of shade and water. Light clothing, a hat and sunscreen can help keep you protected from the sun's rays.
