Meals on Wheel volunteers needed

Liberty Meals on Wheels currently needs permanent and substitute drivers to deliver meals to older adults within the city limits of Liberty Monday - Friday.

The meals are picked up at the Fire Station 1 parking lot, located at 200 W. Mississippi. Each route has no more than six stops and each volunteer is assigned a route that takes approximately 30-45 minutes to deliver.

Permanent Drivers

Liberty Meals on Wheels is seeking volunteer drivers to help deliver noon meals to older adults in the city limits of Liberty. Each day the Meals on Wheels program delivers nearly 80 meals to local seniors who are not able to leave their home. Drivers are asked to volunteer one day a week for at least a month.

Substitute Drivers

Liberty Meals on Wheels also need substitute drivers, who fill in when a permanent driver is not available. A substitute is called upon about once a month. Ideal candidate for substituting is a stay at home mom or dad, a retired person, or someone with flexibility in their job who can respond to a last minute call.
