To celebrate Older Americans Month, the Liberty Silver Center is offering a variety of events to showcase Silver Center programs and services.

May 3
Hands only CPR video & training:11 a.m. No registration required.

May 4
Learn about Liberty’s Parks & Trails from Liberty Parks & Natural Resources manager, 10:30 a.m., No registration required.

May 5
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a dance party and musical entertainer Gino Bueno beginning at 10:15. Enjoy a taco bar potluck immediately following the entertainment. The cost is $2 per person plus a side dish or $5 without a side dish. Registration for lunch is needed by noon on May 4.

May 5
Presentation of the Older Americans Month proclamation at 11:20 a.m. by Mayor Brenton to Patrick and Jody Crawford, Barbara Moffett and Mabel Bruce.

May 18
Wellness Wednesday: Free blood pressure checks provided by Focus Health Group From 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Skin Cancer Awareness presentation by Dr. Scott Darling, 11:00 a.m.. No registration required.

May birthday celebration with entertainment by The Country Music Makers, 10:15 a.m.

Exercise Class Showcase: Silver Sneakers Circuit, 10:45 a.m. Free of charge.

Exercise Class Showcase: Silver Sneakers Classic, 10:15 a.m. Free of charge.

May 25
Exercise Class Showcase: Aquasize, 9 a.m. Free of charge.

May 25
Lunch & Learn with Mosaic Healthcare: Signs and symptoms of strokes. Registration for lunch is needed by noon on May 24.

May 26
Exercise Class Showcase: Zumba Gold, 9 a.m. Free of charge.

May 27
Exercise Class Showcase: Silver Sneakers Yoga, 9:45 a.m. Free of charge.

May 27
Grill’n-Chill’n cookout: registration required by noon on May 26 .

If you wish to stay for lunch on any day, please make reservations by noon the day prior. A $2 donation is requested for the meal for individuals aged 60 or better. Lunch for individuals under the age of 60 is $7. Reservations can be made by calling, 816.439.4368.
