[ARCHIVED] The Emerald Ash Borer has arrived!

As the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) arrives with a vengeance in Liberty, the Liberty Tree Board will host an information session for homeowners at the Liberty Community Center on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m.

The session will include a presentation by Sarah Crowder from Heartland Tree Alliance. Attendees will get the opportunity to learn how to identify an ash tree, explore treatment options, and get a hands-on look at samples of EAB-infested trees.

The City of Liberty is implementing a multi-year EAB Management Plan for more than 200 ash trees that occur within the rights-of-way along streets. Ultimately, the majority of these ash trees will be removed and replaced. Larger ash trees in good condition will be treated with the bioinsecticide TreeAzin. The City began using insecticidal treatments on select trees in parks in May of 2014.

Come and learn more about the EAB, signs & symptoms of infestation, and treatment options.
