It's going to be a scorcher today! If you need a place to cool off, the Liberty Community Center (1600 S. Withers Rd.) lobby is available as a cooling center when outdoor temperatures reach 90 degrees or greater. The cooling center is available to anyone, regardless of residency.
The Liberty Community Center is open:
-- Monday-Thursday: 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
-- Friday: 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m.
-- Saturday: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
-- Sunday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
This area provides a cool place to get out of the oppressive heat. People using the cooling center are encouraged to bring their necessary personal items like medicines and ready-to-eat snacks. Cooling center visitors may purchase a day pass if they would like to use the Liberty Community Center's other facilities.
