[ARCHIVED] All Open Burning Prohibited

Because of the lack of rain and dangerously dry conditions, all open fires, including bonfires, outdoor rubbish fires and recreational fires, are prohibited until further notice (this does not include BBQs).

The Liberty Fire Department also reminds residents that the period for lawful discharge of fireworks has passed.

-- The discharge of aerial fireworks from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. is only lawful on July 3 through July 4 on single-family residence tracts three (3) acres or larger.

-- The discharge of non-aerial fireworks from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. is only lawful July 3 through July 4.

Anyone caught violating these laws is subject to up to a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.
