The Liberty Summer Band, sponsored by Liberty Parks and Recreation and William Jewell College, will perform two free concerts during the month of June and will also help Liberty celebrate the Fourth of July.
On Tuesday, June 14, new conductor Shane Fuller will lead the band in a concert that will feature jazz and music from Broadway and the silver screen.
The June 28, “Inside the Liberty Summer Band” will feature various components of the 65-member band on various numbers.
The free concerts in June are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in front of the James S. Rooney Justice Center, 11 South Water St., Liberty, Mo. Concertgoers should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. In case of rain, concerts will be held at the Liberty Performing Arts Center, 1600 South Withers Road. The band also is scheduled to perform at the Liberty4thFest on July 4 at William Jewell College.
