Recently, the City of Liberty established designated truck routes to prevent dump trucks, construction equipment, tractor trailers, and other commercial semi-trailers from using residential streets as short-cuts to access highways.
Effective Monday, April 18, 2011, Liberty Police officers will begin issuing citations for those vehicles that use residential streets but do not have pick-ups or deliveries on that roadway. Service vehicles (Postal Service, trash trucks, etc.) as well as emergency vehicles are exempt from this ordinance.
