Public Works and Parks employees, nine plows with spreaders and nine smaller plow vehicles are ready to clear the nearly 350 lane miles of roadway in Liberty. Crews work on nine sanding routes that cover primary and residential streets throughout the community. It takes crews 4 hours on average to go through each route one time. In heavier storms, it may take several rounds through each route to keep the streets as clear as possible.
The Missouri Department of Transportation crews clear the state highways, such as M-291 and M-33 (Lightburne), that run through Liberty.
