Street Restoration Program Progress: The City’s contractor has completed striping on La Frenz, the eastern portion of Ruth Ewing, and Kings Highway. They have milled Shepherd Road, from Lightburne to W. Heartland Drive. Overlay and striping will soon follow.
To see the list of roads that are expected to be included in this year’s program and to learn about other Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) visit our GIS Web Portal. Once there, scroll and click on “Click Here to View All Applications” and then choose “Capital Improvement Plans.” Once in the CIP portal, click on “2025 Street Maintenance Pavement Restoration.”
How does the City determine what roads should be repaved? Each year, City staff assesses and prioritizes public streets for that year’s street restoration program with consideration given to:
- Pavement Condition Indexing (PCI) data
- Volume and usage data
- Field reports from Street Maintenance staff
- Known public and private utility projects planned along or adjacent to public streets
The contract for milling and overlaying or paving the streets is one part of this year's Street Restoration Program base budget, which was set at $2,400,000, with $800,0000 from Transportation Sales Tax and $1,600,000 from Capital Sales Tax.
