ROAD CLOSURE - Mississippi Street will be closed starting Jan. 2 to allow Liberty Utilities Construction crews to replace a 4" water main on Mississippi Street, between Fairview and Maple Streets.
Once the main is replaced, crews will start working on the Mississippi Street Sidewalk Improvement Project that will provide a safe path for residents to walk along Mississippi Street.
This project is estimated to be completed by April 2025, weather permitting. Please follow all traffic control and detour signs.
UPDATE on Jan. 2 - Crews have staged equipment on Mississippi Street and staff has started sawing the street in preparation for this project. Due to the snow in the forecast this weekend, they will reopen Mississippi to through traffic to allow snow crews to complete their routes. As soon as the weather allows, they will resume this utility project and close the road.
