Current and former City leaders, representatives from Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. and a few brave citizens and staff took on the scorching heat on June 15 to break ground on the long-awaited second phase of South Liberty Parkway. This roadway, which has been in City plans for decades, will complete an east-west connector between I-35 and M-291 Highway.
The 4-lane, 2.5 mile extension of South Liberty Parkway from Withers Road to Missouri 291 Highway is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.
