- In an effort to streamline the tax billing process and make it easier for residents to pay taxes, the City of Liberty has contracted with the Clay County Collector’s office to collect 2013 real estates and property taxes.
Beginning with the 2013 tax year, Liberty residents will receive one real estate property tax bill and one personal property tax bill for their 2013 City of Liberty and Clay County taxes.
In the past, a Liberty resident would receive as many as four different tax bills – a County real estate tax bill, a County personal property tax bill, a City real estate tax bill and a City personal property tax bill. Now, that same resident will receive just one real estate tax bill with the County and City taxes and one personal property tax bill with the County and City personal property taxes.
