The artwork of Rebecca Owens is now on display throughout the Mid-Continent Public Library Community Room for public viewing.
About the artist:
Kansas City based artist, Rebecca Owens, is best known for her love of color and expressive form, veering dramatically from geometric angles to flowing organic shapes. When it comes to oil painting, she enjoys creating nearly three-dimensional works that showcase the expressive nature of the medium. Although she currently pursues her calling as an Illustrator, Rebecca dabbles in many different art forms; including printmaking, sculpture and drawing. Common subjects include tropical plants and flowers, especially palms, and big cats. Rebecca wants to nurture a love for color and creativity in all people, hoping that when audiences view her art they will be inspired to “dream bigger, speak louder and paint with the biggest brush they have.”

About the artist:
As a lifelong resident, Patrick McDowell’s passion for Liberty runs deep. This exhibit includes some of his favorite travel photographs from over the years. "I hope these views inspire you to appreciate the journey, not just the destination. In fact, that idea is the heart of this collection: images that document a journey worth celebrating. After scouring thousands of photos, I selected my “Favorite 40” that best reflect my love for Liberty, nature and adventure."
