Living in Liberty
The City of Liberty is committed to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion for its community.

Liberty offers an excellent school system, a local University, a historic downtown neighborhood, cultural experiences, abundant parks and recreational opportunities and safe neighborhoods.
The City's 29 square miles is serviced by a highly rated public school system and excellent local municipal services like police, fire, water and sewer. The City of Liberty has been recognized as:

- One of the "Best Places to Raise a Family" by Family Circle Magazine.
- One of the "Best Places to Retire" by Money Magazine.
Communities are selected for these accolades by offering the best combination of economic opportunities, good schools, safe streets, things to do and a real sense of community. This is Liberty - we have a strong community feel.
Liberty Public School District
Liberty Public School District offers high quality schools that serve over 12,300 students and more than 60,000 residents. The Districts' innovative approach to learning has created thinking "outside the box". EPIC Elementary School, a project-based learning environment, is designed to inspire students to be creative.
By participating in Northland Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS), Liberty students are immersed in professional environments and are engaged in curriculum developed by industry professionals. For more information visit the Liberty Public School District website.
William Jewell College
William Jewell College was established in 1849 in Liberty. "The Jewell Journey is rich with opportunities for students to live what they learn. Students can engage in our Center for Justice and Sustainability, collaborate in the new Pryor Learning Commons, design their own Journey Grant anywhere in the world, be a Division II athlete, research with a professor or launch an entrepreneurial venture through our Idea Exchange."

Metropolitan Community Colleges
Metropolitan Community Colleges (MCC) offers several academic accreditation programs for a variety of industries like:
- Automotive Technology
- Veterinary Technology
- Nursing, Therapy and other Medical Professions
MCC also offers short term training opportunities for high workforce demand industries. The goal of the Workforce Training program is to provide an advanced well trained workforce through partnering with employers and community organizations and governmental agencies to create customized training. Industry partners review training content and create curriculum to ensure students are job ready.
Recreation
Liberty is home to more than 500 acres of park land and more than 10 miles of trails offering plenty of opportunity for play and exercise. The Community Center offers state of the art equipment, individual and team sports, an indoor and outdoor swimming pools for the whole family.
Capitol Federal Sports Complex is a nationally recognized facility that hosts numerous local, regional and national baseball, softball and soccer tournaments and leagues throughout the year. The national tournaments attract teams from coast to coast.

Liberty History, Arts and Cultural
Liberty was founded in 1822, but Lewis & Clark passed through what is now Clay County 18 years earlier. The community includes seven historic districts and over 240 preserved homes and buildings many of which are listed on the National Register of Historic places.
