Study sessions of the City Council generally are typically held on the first or third Monday of each month at 7 pm in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Study Sessions are an opportunity for the City Council to study a particular topic in-depth. No formal action may be taken at a Study Session, but general direction is provided.
Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public. Make Music Liberty, which held its inaugural event in 2016, is hosted annually by the Liberty Arts Commission. It is a great community effort to make the event happen, including participation by musicians, businesses and public spaces to host performers, volunteers to keep things on track, and we are looking forward to another year of great music in Liberty!
