    Join Cecelia Robinson, Historian with the Clay County African American Legacy, Inc., as she takes you on tour of the African American Legacy Memorial and the Garrison School. This tour will begin at the entrance of the African American Legacy Memorial on the east side of Fairview Cemetery (the cemetery is bounded by Terrace Avenue and West Shrader Street) at 10 a.m. Attendees will then drive to the Garrison School (502 N. Water St.) to learn more about the newly added and updated exhibits.

  1. Outdoor Storm Siren Testing

    Each month, April through October, the City will test outdoor sirens at 11 a.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. The City will not sound the sirens on these days if the weather conditions do not allow.

    For alerts indoors, every home and business should have a NOAA All-Weather Radio. This type of radio is like a smoke detector for severe weather, and it can wake you up when a warning is issued for your area so you can take appropriate action.

    • Each ghost will be holding a secret word that you will need to solve the riddle on the activity sheet. 
    • Bring your completed activity sheet to the Liberty Community Center for a Halloween treat.

    Prizes available for the first 500 children who complete the activity and return it to the Liberty Community Center. Limit one prize per child. There must be someone present for each activity sheet submitted. Completed activity sheets will be accepted through Nov. 3, or until all the prizes are gone!
