With input from community surveys, City Park task force and Vireo, a landscape architecture, planning, and design firm, the Parks & Rec Board and City Council agreed upon several new amenities, features and renovations to City Park featuring an inclusive playground and a new, themed sprayground. Construction is planned to begin in the spring and scheduled to be completed by late 2020.
This project is made possible thanks to voter approval of a 3/8-cent Use Tax in April 2018. In addition to funding the City Park project, revenue from this tax will provide support for general City operations as well as for some other capital improvements, including improvements to our neighborhood parks and Community Center.
