Discounted Spay & Neuter Packages in Celebration of World Spay Day

In cooperation with Liberty Animal Control, and in celebration of World Spay Day, veterinarians around Liberty are participating in a reduced-cost pet sterilization program February 26 – March 2 for Liberty residents.

There are a limited number of appointments available, so interested persons are encouraged to call early to schedule. Participating veterinary facilities are:

  • Crossroads Animal Hospital: 816.781.1510
  • Northside Animal Clinic: 816.781.3900
  • Veterinary Center of Liberty: 816.781.0778

Citizens must show proof of residency to qualify for the discount. Pet owners will pay:

  • $85 to spay or neuter a cat. This also includes rabies and feline distemper vaccinations and a physical exam.
  • $95 to spay or neuter a dog. This also includes rabies and canine distemper/parvo vaccinations, physical examination and a City license.
  • Additional charges could be incurred for pets that are pregnant or in-heat, as well as for treatment of any medical concerns the veterinarian may discover during examination.

Last year, owners of more than 84 dogs and cats were able to use this reduced cost program to spay or neuter their animals.  This helps to reduce the birth of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens, which in turn helps to reduce the number of homeless pets and the number of pets turned in to the Liberty Animal Shelter. This program is part of the 24th Annual World Spay Day, presented by the Humane Society on the last Tuesday of February each year.
