Tennis Lessons

Liberty Parks & Rec offers a variety of tennis programs in a fun and positive environment while taking the teaching experience seriously. The focus of each program will be on teaching basic tennis skills, while incorporating innovative drills and games.

Each player must bring a tennis racket and water bottle to each class. Lessons are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at Bennett Park Map»

Upon registration you will be asked which days of the week you would like to play. The options are Monday, Wednesday, and/or Saturday.

Tiny Tots

ages 4-6 years old
  • Entry level tennis class using a modified court, racket and balls. This class is used to help develop fine motor skills with tennis based activities.

Future Stars

ages 6-8 years old
  • More advanced class where kids start to rally back and fourth with partners and learn how to keep score. This class uses a lower compression ball that does not bounce as high and is larger, making kids feel more successful when playing.

Advanced Stars

ages 9 - 10 years old
  • Advanced uses a 60 ft court and lower compression balls in order to keep rallies going and to keep the bounce down for kids. This class is designed for kids to start competing and developing their forehand, backhand, and serves.

Hot Shots

ages 11 - 14 years old
  • Beginner level for kids who are looking to expand their tennis knowledge and start developing their footwork to help with the rest of their game. This class concentrates on technique, scoring, and point play.


This session of lessons is instructed by William Jewell tennis player, Whitney Holloman. Whitney is a sophomore at Jewell from Topeka, Kan. In high school she was a varsity athlete in cross country, tennis, basketball and track and field and qualified for 6A State all four years in track and three years in tennis. Instructor Bio»
